GOP Governors want to talk health reform with Obama

Republican governors in 11 states have requested a meeting with President Barack Obama to discuss the impacts of the health reform law. In a letter sent through the Republican Governors Association, governors in Florida, Louisiana, Ohio, Virginia and Arizona, among others, requested more control over their Medicaid programs, reported the Tampa Bay Times.

"We request your personal commitment and follow-through from the United States Department of Health and Human Services to create flexibility and reforms to the program," the governors wrote. "While each state will have its own set of considerations regarding the future of its Medicaid program, our hope is that this letter can represent the first step in opening those discussions." The governors also laid out their concerns regarding establishing state-run health insurance exchanges. Article
