GAO finds HealthCare.gov is 'high-risk'

A new Government Accountability Office (GAO) report finds HealthCare.gov may still have security holes. GAO states that the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, along with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, took risks when they launched the exchanged website last fall. HHS officials said the agency used independent security firms to test the website, and there were no signs of high-risk problems. However, GAO disagrees with HHS and believes the site was very high risk. Additionally, the report emphasizes that if technical issues forced HealthCare.gov to shut down, there is still no backup site customers can use in the meantime. Report (.pdf)
