Regence undergoes major executive shakeup
The future leadership at Regence Life and Health is unclear as its senior executives change roles--all while facing scrutiny from Washington state over its claims payment delays and decreasing enrollment, according to the Lund Report. Jared Short switched positions with Bill Barr to lead the company's health insurance plans in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Utah. Short previously was president of the Oregon health plan, and is now executive vice president of health insurance services. Barr, meanwhile, is taking the fall for Regence's claims problems. John Morgan, Regence's group executive vice president of Direct Care Solutions, is searching for a "permanent leadership solution," according to an internal memo. "Based on my evaluation of how Regence Life and Health has operated and conducted business to date, and the need to ensure appropriate and successful business practices, I've determined a change in leadership is in the best interest of the company," Morgan wrote.
